George Fox

It’s been a few months since our last update from George Fox, a local athlete in Lytham sponsored by VetPlus.  George is currently working hard in his Winter training phase, where strength and endurance are key features to work on before his attention is turned to speed work in readiness for forthcoming competitions this season.

George currently studies at UCLAN in Preston and will be representing his University in April at the prestigious British University and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competition at both the 100 and 200m for ambulant athletes.  He is still currently ranked 2nd in the 100m in the UK and 1st  in the 200m for his classification. He’s been asked to be part of the British Athletics Talent Development again, where he goes every few weeks to Loughborough University for training and development camps, with GB coaches.

This year George’s main focus is to take part in the International Grand Prix CP series in France to try and get qualification times for the World Championships in London and ultimately for the Cerebral Palsy World games in 2018.  We hear that he continues to enjoy his training, particularly competing and hopes to improve his Personal Bests again this season.

We hope George’s training goes well and wish him luck for the upcoming BUCS competition!
